AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.” – William Arthur Ward

In addition to sharing time with family and friends over sugary treats and the signature Thanksgiving dinner feast, the primary element of the day is ‘gratitude’. It is certainly a good time to express our gratitude towards everyone whom we’re thankful for.

Thanksgiving is all about gratitude – appreciating what you have (and had).

Gratitude is often lacking in our world today. We get so wrapped up in our own lives that we forget to appreciate others and how they enhance our lives. The power of gratitude is an amazing thing! It lifts the heart from set-backs that seek to weigh it down. It can turn judgment into acceptance, conflict into understanding, despair into hope, a stranger into a friend.

So here we are, thanking all those who are associated with us in one or the other way, our one big happy family.

Thanksgiving is a festival of gratitude and love. By saying thanks to our clients, employees and their families and every other individual associated with us, we wish to make this occasion the happiest one for everyone and bring our relationship a step closer.

We all tend to get caught up in what we call being “heads down”, focused on today.  Thanksgiving is an annual reminder to pause so that we don’t delay gratitude for too long.  We could do the whole “thanks to our employees and our clients, yadda yadda” thing, but it’s much more than that.

We’ve been fortunate to have amazing employees help build this company.  Some are still here, while some have moved on for various reasons.  But each contributed his/her skills toward shaping Swazy & Alexander in some way.  Working at a small company requires a level of dedication, hard-work, trust and teamwork that we don’t take lightly and deeply appreciate. Thank you to our team here at Swazy. Thank you for giving your best each day and your great efforts in making our company a successful one. We are really grateful for the painstaking efforts you all have put in your work. Your excellence truly drives our success.

We are incredibly thankful for the hundreds of clients that we serve.  We realize that it might seem cliché to say, “that’s why we do this”, but it’s true.  The Swazy & Alexander Team thrives on seeing our clients happy with the services we provide them.  Our clients allow us to do what we enjoy.  So we truly thank all of our clients, past and present, local and afar, for having the confidence in our team and to select Swazy & Alexander to work on your most precious commodity, your homes.  We certainly know there are other choices and continually strive to provide our clients results that make them proud to say they choose us.

One of our core values here at Swazy is giving back to the community that so freely gives to us day after day and with that we once again donated our time, energy and resources to help one of our favorite organizations, Our Neighbors Table in Amesbury, MA.

We had a great experience this morning going over to Our Neighbors table with our donations and meeting the staff and volunteers that make this amazing organization flourish. It was truly a memorable morning and a great way to start the holiday season. We live in a fantastic community and its places like theirs that make us grateful to have our business in this area. Our donations today were given in the name of all of our clients, teammates and the entire Swazy family. We were honored to be a part of it!

We wish you all a happy, healthy and grateful Thanksgiving!

Our Neighbors’ Table was established in 1992 through the Amesbury Council of Churches. Housed on the campus of the Main Street Congregational Church in Amesbury, Massachusetts, Our Neighbors’ Table is a private,  nonprofit 501c3 organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.

In the beginning…

The Wednesday Meal currently offered at Our Neighbors’ Table was the first program opened to the community. The first meal – spaghetti and meatballs prepared and served by volunteers in May 1992 – hosted 8 guests. A table at the back of the dining room held a small assortment of canned goods available for guests to take home if needed.

Today…

They welcome 150 guests to their Wednesday Meal each week. Their food pantry program provides groceries, fresh foods, and toiletries to more than 300 households from 12 cities and towns a week across 4 pantry locations, and they deliver groceries and hot meals to home-bound individuals in 3 towns. Each holiday season, they distribute special groceries and turkeys to more than 500 families. But most of all, food is never more than a phone call away through our 24/7 emergency hotline.
